The Historic town of Dartmouth is situated at the mouth of the River Dart and is approximately 15 minute’s drive from Tuckenhay. There is plenty for everyone with stunning coastal walks, river trips including the Round Robin, which takes you on the steam train, open top bus and boat on the River Dart. Dartmouth is home to the impressive Royal Naval College and also hosts food markets, music festival and a Royal Regatta. Boat hire is available at Dartmouth and further up river at Dittisham, where you can also visit Agatha Christie’s – Greenway National Trust property.

Totnes is another interesting and historic town on the River Dart. It is also
approximately 15 minutes from Tuckenhay. There is a good mix of shops, restaurants and leisure activities for all ages. Totnes is on the mainline to Paddington and Penzance and also has the Stream Train Station close by which takes you further up stream on the river bank to Buckfastleigh.
